Singles Spotlight:
The Grogans –
“Worry About Everything”

Hello reader,

How are you today?

Today, we’re excited to introduce another artist who is making fantastic music: The Grogans. The Melbourne, Australia-based garage rock trio, consisting of Quin Grunden ( Vocals, Guitar, Bass, Rhodes), Angus Vasic (Vocals, Guitar, Pedal Steel), and Jordan Lewis ( Vocals, Drums, Percussion), has been creating tasty jams since forming a band in 2016.

The trio has released three EP’s including the self-released Cacteyed (2016), Twangs N’ Cans (2017), Grogan Grove (2018) and four studio albums via Cousin Will Records: Just What You Want (2019), Day To Day (2020), Which Way Is Out (2020) and Find Me A Cloud (2023).

And on Friday, May 23rd, The Grogans released their newest album, Stagger, by CW Records via Community Music.  In the album’s press release while talk about mixing and engineering the album while on tour in the US & Canada, bandmember Quin Grunder says, “Usually I’m in the same spot whilst mixing and can come and go from each track mentally, but this time the album was attached to us at the hip. We would bring a setup through most of America and record/mix in green rooms and on the bandwagon. It was definitely worth it, as we had to work with what we had to finish the album. Only being able to reference mixes on headphones and JBL speakers towards the end of the album process was definitely harder than in a studio, but as a band, we have never really been able to sit still, so it worked nicely. Each mix definitely has its own personality, and I guess that’s what we wanted for this staggered album.”

In SWT’s opinion, one of the best songs on Stagger is “Worry About Everything.” That’s the single that we’re going to spotlight today. We’re so stoked to share it with you. Via the band’s album press release, they said the following about the song, “Worry About Everything”:

“It is easy as a human to continually compare, stress, and worry over the small stuff. Trying to be still and content with what you have and what you love is something that many of us need to work on. This song is purely based on this idea.”

If that quote doesn’t intrigue you enough, let us offer why we love this song. It’s a jam whose vocals will resonate with all of its listeners, all the humans at least. The title may seem alarming at first glance, but soon even the most skeptical listener is treated to refreshing, calming lyrics and a positive, melody-forward vibe that is rock-inspired in the best ways, with some catchy riffs, drums that march forward, gorgeous harmonies, and even the Rhodes piano. It’s a gem of a song and a great intro to The Grogans. Long-time fans of the band will see this song as another example of a song that fits well into both the band’s ethos and discography.
