Singles Spotlight:
Mason Via –
“Melt in the Sun”

Hello reader,

How are you today? Ready to discover some more music?

Today, we’re excited to introduce another artist who is making some outstanding music: Mason Via. Born in the small town of Danbury, North Carolina, Via spent his youth in Appalachia, perfecting his picking and singing in the NC and VA areas as his musicianship and confidence grew. In 2021, Via joined the fantastic Grammy-nominated group, Old Crow Medicine Show, co-writing songs on their album Jubilee (2023) while playing guitar and guitjo, and singing vocals. Via was also a songwriter on the Grammy-winning album City of Gold from the incredible Molly Tuttle and wrote songs on the Grammy-nominated album Almost Proud from the fabulous Del McCoury Band. He also found time to release his debut solo album, New Horizons, in 2022, which garnered positive acclaim.

Via’s second solo album, the self-titled Mason Via, was released on April 25th on Mountain Fever Records.

In SWT’s opinion, one of the best songs on Mason Via is “Melt in the Sun.” That’s the single that we’re going to spotlight today. We’re so stoked to share it with you. It’s a song that will capture your ears’ attention from the early notes of the song with its excellent musicianship, Via’s unforgettable vocals, and beautiful lyrics. It’s a melody that jaunts and weaves in the best ways, making for what must be a fantastic live performance in person.
