Singles Spotlight:
Atomic Fruit –
“Hit The Ground”

Hello reader,

How have you been?

Today, SWT is excited to shed some spotlight on yet another artist making excellent music: Atomic Fruit. The Berlin-based psych rock trio features Martin Lundfall (vocals, guitar, bass, synthesizer), RaphaĆ«l Giraldi (backing vocals, bass, guitar), and Federico Lenzi on drums, who came together to form Atomic Fruit in 2021. While each member hails from different parts of Europe: Sweden, France, and Italy, respectively, they aren’t letting anything get in their way of making some fantastic music. The guys met in the wonderful melting pot city that is Berlin at a SUUNS concert.

In 2023, the group released their debut album,Ā Play Dough, followed in early 2025 by the Get Along EP, and a month later they released their second full-length album, Sketches of the Moon.

While they are new to many of us, their Bandcamp bio says the trio “combines dreamy, psychedelic rock with electronic beats andĀ soundscapes.” I was introduced to the band recently, when I was given two singles to listen to and fell in love with both. Thank you! Both “Medicine,” the second single, and “Hit the Ground,” which was the lead single, are absolutely gorgeous tunes. To my ears, they are both truly gems. I listened to each song a few times, debating which I would want to spotlight in the SWT Singles Spotlight series, as both are grade-A quality. What put me over the top in favor of “Hit the Ground” is the often trippy, but always creative-as-hell music video, which, in the first two-ish minutes, triggered some Monty Python and the Holy Grail visual vibes at times for me. The song’s melody and vocals ebb and flow beautifully as the video plays. There are melodic shifts abound as the vibes remain chill. Everything fits together and feels right. Kudos. The song features outstanding musicianship from a tight-knit band that would create a memorable live experience.Ā

The single’s press release stated, ‘Hit The Ground’ is about the clutter that builds up in your head when living in the city. An endless noise of desires, deadlines, and ambitions running through your mind like traffic. You dream of a simpler life. Out in nature, daydreaming, studying the trajectories of bumblebees.” Sign me up. Ready to listen to the song yet?
