NEWSKI (Brett Newski): Artist, Author, Musician, Adventurer

Hello Readers,

How are you?  I hope that you’re doing well.   When you read this title, did you question whom Brett Newski or NEWSKI was or did you recognize the name?

Full disclosure: Brett is not paying us to say any of this.

We at Scummy Water Tower, are huge fans of the individual (featured center in the above photo).  He’s a very talented person that is making the world a better place.  In no particular order, he is a skilled, often touring songwriting musician (he goes by NEWSKI currently), a website owner, an artist that sells his works to you within the merch section of his website, a podcaster, an author, and illustrator.

His book, “It’s Hard to be a Person: Defeating Anxiety, Surviving the World and Having More Fun” deals with familiar feelings in Brett’s own effective and relatable way. Humor included.  In my mind, and to the agreement of many others, it is definitely worth reading.  Great illustrations by the author as well.  If you purchase it, please do so here.

His podcast, Dirt from the Road, often interviews other musicians while he is on the road touring, adventuring and definitely serves up a source of serotonin.  Dirt from the Road, can be listened to here.

As a musician, he’s released more than two handfuls worth of music in album and EP form.  In all formats music is often sold.  He’s got physical copies on vinyl, and cds and also has digital copies on both his website and his Bandcamp site. The Bandcamp has even more content including awesome tunes that haven’t made it to an album.   Head over and listen to some: https://brettnewski.bandcamp.com/music.

All that being said, Brett was a person that Josh and I trusted and so we reached out to use a song of his for our flagship video content.  THE theme song featured during the intro and outro of every single Water Tower Sessions video.  When Brett responded back with the song, Josh and I listened to his tune, we found the melody and lyrics fitting and catchy as we expect from a NEWSKI song.  Sold!  Every Tuesday and Thursday new Water Tower Sessions appear on this site and our YouTube page featuring “Seek Asylum from Myself” before and after the bands video.  If you like what you see and hear, please like and subscribe.

Here’s the full “Seek Asylum from Myself” song:

Thank you for reading and supporting artists!

Until next time,
