In February, Los Angeles based artist Stefanie Michaela made her triumphant return to music, with emotional new single “Found In You.”
The new release follows a self-imposed break from music to raise her five children with her husband. However, she recently felt the pull to return to music, with encouragement from her family. On an Instagram post, she wrote that her kids told her, “Mommy, you’ve taken care of us; now it’s time to take care of you.”
“Their words lit a fire in me, and now, I’m stepping back into my passion—stronger than ever,” says Michaela.
You can find a video that perfectly sums up who she is as an artist below:
New single “Found in You” finds Michaela in fine form, showing that her love for and effort in creating impactful music hasn’t diminished with time. The song’s three minutes feature a vibrant mix of soul, R&B, and pop, fitting in snuggly with the music she’s made in the past. She co-wrote it with the help of veteran GRAMMY-winning producer and songwriter Keith Thomas (known for his work with Amy Grant, Vanessa Williams, Whitney Houston, and CeCe Winans) and International Songwriting Competition winner Stephanie Middleton.
“The journey to this moment has been filled with challenges, but now it’s all or nothing. If my songs can touch just one soul and make them feel what I feel while singing these lyrics, then I’ve done my job,” she tells Top 40 Charts. “I hope the world resonates with my story, heartfelt lyrics, and the beauty of Keith’s creations.

That includes the following lyrics: “The questioning, it settles in/Does your hand always fit right?/The kind of strength that never breaks/I never knew that I needed.” Heartfelt indeed.
According to the song’s press release, “the song draws inspiration from the enduring love Stefanie shares with her husband and the powerful foundation they have built together.” There’s a strong message of “strength, love, and the power of never giving up.”
Today, Scummy Water Tower is excited to share the vibrant, sultry and moving new music video for “Found in You.” The video was filmed by directors Melissa Core and Rick Cabello at the iconic Parthenon in Nashville, TN. The video vividly sweeps between scenes of Michaela and a couple deeply in love. Michaela, shimmering in a blue dress, sings and dances passionately while the couple dance and have the time of their lives together roaming the entrance and stairs of the venue. The songwriter looks lovingly at the couple’s love, most likely reminiscing of her own experiences in love and love’s power. The song and video capture the pure and raw beauty and resiliency of love.
Stefanie shares via press release, “Working on ‘Found in You’ felt like coming home. The support of my family, especially my children, who have become my greatest muse, pushed me to pursue my passion for music once again. This video captures the essence of that love, and I hope it speaks to everyone who has ever experienced a deep connection with someone special.”
A portion of Stefanie’s streaming revenue for “Found in You” will be donated to the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter, in response to the recent fires in Los Angeles. The new song and video are a delectable sample of the new music she’s been working on – her new EP Turning Pages will be released later this year.
