Singles Spotlight:
Megan Nadin –
“In Another Life”

Hello reader,

How you today?

Today we’re going to talk about Megan Nadin, a fantastic singer-songwriter from Canada. On March 14, she released her excellent new single, “In Another Life.” According to the single’s press release the fiery ballad explores the “complexity of love that arrives at the wrong time, blending vulnerability and introspection.” Nadin reflects on past heartbreak and the healing she’s gone through since and ultimately personal growth.

“Sonically, ‘In Another Life’ is stripped back compared to my previous releases. I intentionally left space in the production to allow the lyrics to breathe and tell the story,” Nadin tells SWT. “The song is about emotional vulnerability, and I didn’t want anything to distract from that. The simplicity in the arrangement really lets the rawness of the words take center stage.”

“‘In Another Life’ came out of the bittersweet realization that sometimes, even when things feel like they could be perfect, they just aren’t meant to be,” she continues. “I wrote it during a time when I was reflecting on a connection that had so much potential, but ultimately, we both realized we had things to work through. It’s about accepting that and finding peace, even if the what-ifs linger.”

She says it’s strange how “something that started as just two people enjoying the time they had together, without any pressure, could end up feeling like it could turn into something real.”

“But in the end, we both had our own journeys to focus on, and writing this song helped me process all the feelings that came with that,” says Nadin. It’s a love song for the one that got away, but with an understanding that it just wasn’t the right time.”

The song also stands out from others as it’s the first one she’s released in 432 Hz. The format’s health benefits excite her.

“432 Hz is believed to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and help with mental clarity,” she says. “As someone who believes deeply in the energy of sound and the vibrations it creates, I wanted this song to not only tell a story of heartbreak but also offer a layer of healing. If it helps people feel less alone and more at peace, that’s all I could hope for.”

The song continues her longtime goal of creating impactful and relatable storytelling that began with her debut single “Gypsy Sea” in 2018 that earned recognition from CBC Searchlight. She has since worked with 7-time Grammy-winning producer Keith Thomas and signed a writing contract that brought her to Nashville, where she released her debut EP This Was Then. After going on a brief hiatus to study songwriting, Nadin returned last year with the release of singles “Make It Out Alive” and “High.” Both singles were featured on ABC’s Local On 2 and NBC’s Today in Nashville.
