Singles Spotlight:
Fitz and the Tantrums –
“Man On The Moon”

Hello reader,

How are you today?

Today, we’re excited to talk about another artist who continues to make some solid earworms in the present day after being formed in LA in 2008. Fitz and the Tantrums garnered praise for their energetic live shows and catchy choruses in songs such as “MoneyGrabber”, “Out of My League”, “More Than Just a Dream”, “The Walker”, and “HandClap”, which made for memorable experiences at their live shows. Josh and I can attest to that, having seen the band several times, especially in the early and mid-2010s. They’re definitely a band to see live, and experience that you’ll remember years later and have earworms in your ears days later. The neo soul band is comprised of Fitz aka Michael Fitzpatrick (Lead Vocals), Noelle Scaggs (Co-Vocals), James King (Saxophone & Flute), Joseph Karnes (Bass), John Wicks (Drums), and Jeremy Ruzumna (Keyboards).

The bands discography includes their debut release, Songs for a Breakup: Vol. 1 EP (2009), followed by their debut album Pickin’ Up The Pieces (2010), More Than Just a Dream (2013), Fitz & The Tantrums (2016), All The Feels (2019), and most recently Let Yourself Free (2022)

Recently, the band released a single, “Man On The Moon,” from their upcoming album of the same name, which is scheduled for release on July 25th. We listened to and liked the song, and thus we’re happy to shed some spotlight on it today. It’s a lovely song that offers relatable lyrics that gently compel you to listen and escape into its melody, which is fairly summery without being too sweet. If you allow yourself, you’ll drift away to new heights and new galaxies even without the aid of any foreign substances. Though when paired with “Man On The Moon,” they might just take you to another galaxy. This song serves as a great example of music and entertainment, allowing our brains, nerves, and bodies to decompress and enjoy art and life for a few moments without thinking about what ails us humans. Repeat as needed. Add to the playlist and enjoy.
